About Building Blocks Learning Centre

Building Blocks Learning Centre was founded in 2008, after working in a preschool/daycare for 5 years prior. All children deserve love and attention in a nurturing and safe environment that allows children to explore and grow.  Creating a play based program promotes safe and secure feelings and help foster self esteem and self achievement.

At Building Blocks we believe in creating an environment that has open ended activities to let the children create and explore. Although we do focus part of our schedule on academics, we first and for most want the children to develop friendships and feel secure while they are here. Once we feel they have developed relationships we believe the academic part will come more confidently through practice and repetition. We realize how hectic family schedules can be so we now offer late pick-up for our preschool program and drop-in can be accommodated. We recognize the importance of work, and the stress and demands placed on parents. We strive to make it easier on parents by giving them the knowledge that their children are in good hands.

All of our teachers have their first aid and undergo a criminal record check. Our preschool teachers all have their full ECE certificates and have a great amount of experience working with children. Our school age teachers have either their ECE certificate or their responsible Adult certificate. All of our teachers continue to educate themselves taking workshops on a regular basis to help enhance their knowledge of child development .
